Session Type: Navigating College Athletics’ Legal And Regulatory Environment

This session will cover the potential legal and ethical dilemmas in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) programs, strategies for universities and third parties to mitigate these risks responsibly, and discuss the role of university leaders in navigating the challenges. We will also address legal risks to institutions, the impact of legal challenges to the NCAA’s amateurism rules, and ways to strike a balance between regulatory requirements and providing a rewarding athletic experience for student-athletes, along with other related topics.
