Session Type: Masterclass: Building A Sustainable Collective

When it comes to the ramifications of NIL, there is no greater evidence of its immense impact than the rise of collectives. Tens of thousands of student-athletes are now compensated hundreds of millions of dollars by these largely donor funded third-party organizations. With little transparency and even fewer rules, schools have been forced to operate with almost no knowledge of how their student-athletes interact with these entities, nor how much they are being paid. With dozens of collectives under management and thousands of student-athletes under contract, SANIL will provide administrators with a first-of-its-kind look into: how much money at all levels of Division I is being deployed at schools, student-athlete and whole-roster compensation rates for football and basketball, as well as how successful collectives are operated and what all universities can do to ensure their own organizations can remain competitive over the long-term.
